1. How do I choose the right size baby sling?
Your Pippalily sling size will typically be the size of your fitted t-shirt. If you find yourself between sizes, in our experience you should choose the larger size baby carrier. The bottom of the sling should rest on or just above your hip bone. A low - hanging baby puts unnecessary pressure on your back and is uncomfortable.

2. Is my baby safe in the sling?
Pouch baby slings have been used successfully for centuries. As with any product, slings are the safest when used correctly. When you’re wearing a sling remember: T.I.C.K.S.

3. My baby just doesn't seem to like the sling, what can I do?
• Keep moving! Babies love being in motion in the sling.
• You can also wait and revisit the sling in a few weeks or try a new position.
• Be confident. Some babies fall asleep with an experienced wearer, but seem to sense the lack of confidence their parents might have the first time around.
• We strongly encourage you to keep trying because you will not be disappointed with the freedom a sling offers!

4. How can I nurse with the sling?
Nursing in the sling is discreet and very convenient. Simply pull the inside fabric below your breast and latch the baby. To switch to the other breast, simply slide the baby around into the "football hold" nursing position.

5. What's the difference between a Baby Bjorn type carrier and a baby sling?
In our experience, they are both very useful, but serve two different purposes.
Advantages of the sling include:
• easy to use with no straps, hooks, buttons, etc.
• baby is in a natural position, cuddled in the sling
• slings tend to be more affordable
• longer product usability with the sling, as it is used into toddlerhood

6. I have a pressure point on my shoulder -- why ?
Pressure points are caused by bunched fabric, or often by the baby's leg dangling outside the baby sling. Make sure the fabric is flat across your shoulder and back, and try putting baby's front leg, or both in the sling.

7. I use a different method to place my baby in the baby sling, is that okay?
We have found that everyone seems to find a method that works best for baby and wearer. We are comfortable with the different approaches, as long as the baby is securely in the sling.

8. How do I care for my sling?
Machine wash cold water and hang to dry.

9. Can I use my sling for a newborn?
Yes. Prior to carrying a newborn we recommend rolling the inside material of the sling, decreasing the amount of material surrounding the baby. Most newborns adore being in a cozy place, close to their mother's core. If you find that you'd prefer a little structure to the sling you can roll up a receiving blanket and lay it under the baby in the sling.
As with any product, slings are the safest when used correctly. When you’re wearing a sling remember: T.I.C.K.S.

10. Can I wear my toddler in my sling?
Absolutely. The Hip Carrier is a great tool for your toddler, until they reach 30 lb. The wide strap, and their closeness to your core, allows their weight to be carried by your upper body, instead of your arms or shoulders.

11. Can I wash my sling in the machine?
Absolutely. Our slings can be washed in the machine and hung to dry. Be sure that they aren't in with velcro or zippers that will snare them. Even if they snare, simply cut the thread at the source and it will look good as new.

12. The infant position is getting heavy. Any recommendations?
When you find the baby in the infant position is getting heavy, simply rotate the sling so the baby's mass is moved over to your hip. This helps!
